where 是 副词 这里可看作 which house (Lucy lives) in
总之就是which/what + 介词 的 合成
所以 I visited the room which they lived in.
也可以说 I visited the room where they lived.
动名词 就是 应该用动词 但是语法要求用名词 就改成动名词
比较典型的是 介词后面一定要跟名词 但如果要跟动词 就改称动名词
如 We played basketball instead of playing football.
分词就是除了动名词之外的 都是 可以作为定语补充修饰对象
There is a boy standing there.补充 站在那里
不定式除了有表示将来的含义之外 作主语与动名词没有什么区别
To protect / Protecting wild animals is necessary.
