Tigers are big and strong. They are beautiful. They have yellow fur and black stripes. They also have bright eyes. They look like cats but they are much bigger than cats. They live in the mountains.
Tigers always live alone, but when they have babies, they live as a family until their baby tigers are two or three years old.
Female tigers usually have two babies at a time. When the baby tigers are two or three years old, they have to look after themselves.
Tigers eat meat. They can run very fast and they are good at hunting other animals.
Unluckily, the number of tigers is getting smaller and smaller. Why? Usually because of people. If hunters catch them, they will kill them for their fur and bones to make clothes and medicine. Farmers always cut down trees to take their living areas away for farmlands. So tigers have nowhere to live. If this continues, then there will be no tigers in the world soon.
So we should take acticles to protect them. We can write to newspapers and magazines about tigers. We should tell them about all these problems. If more people know about the importance of protecting tigers, there will be more and more tigers in the future.
So let's protect tigers together!
